Residents and visitors who want to carry a concealed handgun will have to show a specific reason that they need one. People who have received death threats or have been the victims of domestic violence are among those who could be granted permits.
The Shakespeare Theatre Company has closed on the purchase of Washington’s former Southeastern University building to redevelop the site as a support center for the theater. The theater announced the purchase this week with Erkiletian Development Company after they reached an agreement with the Southwest Neighborhood Assembly. The neighborhood group had sought to preserve the building.
Symone Greene, 22, was working at Options Public Charter School in Northeast D.C. when she first met the victim, a 17-year-old football player, on Oct. 17, according to court documents. The student told police he was working as an office assistant and assisted Green twice that day in her English class.
