United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Japan, Two Injured
(MENAFN) A United Airlines flight en route to Cebu, Philippines, was forced to make an emergency landing in western Japan’s Kansai Airport on Friday evening after a fire alarm triggered in the cargo area. The Boeing 737, carrying 141 passengers and crew, touched down at approximately 7:08 pm local time (1008 GMT), as reported by media.
Following the alarm, all passengers and crew evacuated the aircraft via emergency slides. Two female passengers were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
At this point, it remains unclear if an actual fire occurred in the cargo hold. The airport initially shut down both of its runways but later reopened one for regular operations.
